Malik Cherrat is a final-year Bioresource Engineering student with a keen focus on Energy Systems, Industrial Ecology, and the Decarbonization of the Aviation Industry. Driven by a passion for addressing the urgent challenges of climate change and environmental sustainability, Malik is working on analyzing the land use impact of coal mining in Western United States through geospatial analyses. His work involves mapping and quantifying the magnitude of Land Use associated with coal mining and the extent of reclamation practices.
